Help Edrine Establish a Community Pharmacy in Kamuli, Uganda.
Summary
Makaye Edrine completed his pharmacy studies and graduated after overcoming many challenges. His dream has always been to use his training to serve the people of his community and his only one young brother in Bukaaye village.
Currently, Bukaaye and the surrounding villages have limited access to medicines, forcing many residents to travel long distances to town whenever they need treatment. Edrine hopes to establish a properly licensed pharmacy in the community where residents can conveniently access essential medicines and better prescriptions.
Edrine is currently volunteering at Kamuli District General Hospital where he has always been gaining practical experience while preparing for his professional knowledge and the establishment of his own pharmacy.
We are seeking support to help him secure a suitable shop, obtain the necessary approvals and equipment, and purchase an initial stock of essential medicines. The pharmacy would be managed by Makaye Edrine and operated in accordance with Uganda's pharmacy regulations.

Beyond serving his community, establishing the pharmacy will give Makaye Edrine an opportunity to build a sustainable livelihood, continue advancing his professional skills, and support the education of his own younger brother. Edrine also hopes that, as he grows professionally, he will be able to use his experience and success to support other orphans and vulnerable children who are facing challenges similar to those he has experienced. His vision is to turn the opportunity he has received through education into a lasting source of hope and support for others.
The Project Challenge:
People living in Bukaaye and nearby villages have limited access to essential medicines. When they need medication, many residents have to travel long distances to town, which can be difficult and costly especially for families with limited income.
The Solution:
Makaye Edrine completed his pharmacy training and graduated, and he wants to use his skills to serve his own community. His goal is to establish a small, properly licensed community pharmacy in Bukaaye village where residents can access essential medicines closer to home. Edrine is currently volunteering at the District General Hospital while preparing for his professional license and the pharmacy project.
How Donations Will Be Used:
Donations will help Makaye Edrine to establish and begin operating the pharmacy. Funds will support:
