AIM BORN CHAMPIONS CHILDREN AFRICA
Transforming Lives of Vulnerable Children and Families to a Bright Shining Future.
Aim Born Champions Children Africa (ABCCA) is a community development organization working towards breaking the cycle of poverty and dependency among poor families in the rural societies of Uganda and supporting children to achieve their dreams through education.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
The Women’s Empowerment sector provides opportunities to address gender inequality and inequity in Uganda. According to national statistics, Uganda has passed laws and policies that accord equal status to women and men and has attained gender parity in primary and secondary school enrollment. Nevertheless, the country has yet to overcome gender inequality in access to services and opportunities, such as employment and financial services; this is due in part to social norms that serve to reinforce the subordinate status of women and downplay their contributions and potential for participation in the country's development.
The sector supports women and girls in accessing quality education, health care, dignified work, ownership rights for property, technology and equal participation in political and economic decision making which leads to social, economic and environmental sustainability.
This sector provides participants with hands-on experience and increases knowledge on the challenges women and girls face in developing countries and how to sustainably address them.
Reason to participate in Women Empowerment projects.
By contributing to Women’s Empowerment projects, you will support vulnerable women and their families in achieving better livelihoods. You will gain hands on experience working with local Ugandan communities who are already fighting for women’s rights in an effort to address the challenges of gender inequality. Participants who work on women’s empowerment projects will help vulnerable women and their families alleviate poverty and enable them to create sustainable livelihoods.
